I fovor this idea, at least for the below reasons:
- A few years back, when Vim arvhive exceeded the limit, they hardly
  cared to avoid loosing the mail.
- Their search really sucks.

There are several other archiving sites that gladly import old mails,
and have responsive administrators, so we should look into this aspect
as well.
