Note that starting vim with the -X argument will make it unable to use
the X11 clipboard even when started in an xterm (or similar console
emulator). If you never use X11, or if you always use gvim in X and only
use vim in the "non-X, pure text" /dev/tty console, this shouldn't
trouble you.
