Hello,

Using Vim 6.4 on Suse Linux 10, I encounter the following problem.

For some reason the software management tooling of my company uses
tildes (~) in directory names. Vim's file-explorer for some reason
cann't handle this.
When using a symbolic link to this directory, I managed to work around
this problem. But then my company changed the working method, and now
the sources of my software are on a server. I mounted my PC to the
server, to get to the sources, but when browsing to these files from
within Vim for some reason Vim uses absolute paths instead of the
symbolic link I created locally. Resulting in the fact that the
sourcefiles are not visibile in Vim's file-explorer.

Does anybody know a way to overcome this problem, so I can use Vim's
file-explorer again?
