Don't know what triggers this but I've had it happen on more than one
occasion.
from the command line window, I do
set some_non_boolean_option<enter>
and it either does not display the current option, or it flashes it
for an instant, then the command line is blank.
If I do :e and :split, it shows the correct text. I didn't test out
things other than :e :split and a couple different :set commands. I
tried changing the command line window height and it didn't help. When
I do it from the regular command line, its fine. Also, when this most
recently happened, it worked fine from other tabs that I had open,
only 1 had the problem. If this is a bug, I will attach vim in gdb
next time it happens to see whats going on. This was on unix Vim
7.1.319.
