:(  Yeah, that's possible.  I know the Solaris packages (the SVr4 ones, at
any rate) are reasonably finer grained, so you don't have to get the
fortran and all the truly miscellaneous stuff, but the linux package may
not be like that.

It comes up with a different set of warnings, honestly.  The Solaris kernel
is compiled with both, and while Studio lint finds more problem in general,
there are times when gcc finds things it doesn't.  Note, though, that lint
will do a better job of finding cross-module problems than gcc will, since
gcc operates on one source file at a time.
