The problem disappears but that's still a problem of course if you want to use the de_DE.utf8 locale. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and I don't see the bug here. I tried with several locales (de_DE.UTF-8, fr_FR.UTF-8, eo.UTF-8, en_US.UTF-8).
