Hi All,

I have tried mapping a scroll wheel up / down event to have Windows XP GVIM do
something different other than scroll the screen. I followed the instructions
given in vim :help scroll-mouse-wheel. It says that you can map mouse wheel up
/ down events easily using <ScrollWheelUp> and <ScrollWheelDown> as a left side
expression of a map.

However, the result for me personally has been 100% negative. Try as I might,
I have not managed to change any of the behaviour concerning the mouse wheel in
vim.

I have tried statements like:

:map <ScrollWheelUp> .......
:map <scrollwheelup> ......
:map <MouseUp> ......
:map <MouseDown> ......

and none of them have worked. The behaviour remains fixed as scroll up / down
the screen one line at a time.

Have used an external tool, AutoHotKey to achieve the effect that I was trying
to do (*) , but I feel that this is only a work-around method.

I am sure that mapping mouse events used to work well in Vim 7.2. In the
latter I would typically be using commands like:

:map <MouseUp> .......
:map <MouseDown> ........

and this used to be no problem.....(!!!)

Checked thoroughly through my vimrc file to make sure that I have not done
anything silly to force the mouse behaviour in any particular way, but did not
find anything.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Paul.

* I was trying to have an
automatic step forward / backward through the undo tree using g- / g+
