Thanks for applying this build patch but I'm not sure it will work as it appears the RC_INVOKED define was chopped off after the "-".
I believe the WINDRES lines for both files should look like WINDRES := $(CROSS_COMPILE)windres --preprocessor="$(CC) -E -xc" - DRC_INVOKED I will do a fresh "hg pull -u" and test on my Win7 system using MinGW/ TDM gcc 4.5.1 and LLVM-GCC 2.7 to confirm.
