If there is an empty end line, you can select the last but one end of line but not the last one, so it is also left on Delete (or Backspace). With Vim, it is different because the "Line select" mode is supposed to select the end of line character. So I keep thinking that this should be corrected, both because of the internal logic and because I do not see the interest of keeping an empty end line.
