If you want to unsubscribe by sending mail, any subject or content goes, but you must use either [email protected] (with a plus sign, as mentioned in the headers of every list post) or mailto:[email protected] (as mentioned at http://www.vim.org/maillist.php ) as the destination. However, (1) the "From" address n that unsubscribe mail MUST be your "email address of record" i.e., the *exact* address to which list mail; and (2) you must not block the final email which will tell you how to confirm that you really want to unsubscribe and that the email sent "in your name" to the unsubscribe address was not a bad joke from someone else.

Alternately, if you know under which Google account you are subscribed to the list, you can point any browser to http://groups.google.com/groups/mysubs (log in to your Google account if necessary) then set the vim_dev group's setting to either "No Email" (which will allow you to post but will stop any list mail to you) or to "Unsubscribe" (which will remove you from the membership list, and therefore both stop list mail to you and take away your right to post).

Best regards,
Tony.
