Hi,
I have few questions regarding the file explorer in the latest version
of gvim.
When i worked earlier with gvim6.. versions(older version of gvim), i
used the file explorer. Basically i used to split open the file explorer
and then double clicking with mouse on any of the file in the file
explorer, used to open that file for me in the first split window (to
the right).
But in the latest versions of gvim, a single mouse click is trying to
open the file in the same "file explorer" window and after that even if
i move to the other split windows and click there, its trying to open
some other files (other than what ever is already split open).
Hope you understood what i am trying to say. Please try the same at your
end and let me know, how i can work in the old fashion (as i used to do
with the older versions of gvim)
Thanks,
Pavan

The separate Explorer plugin has been obsoleted by the much more
powerful netrw plugin. You can still use "explorer-like" commands, see:
:help :Explore
:help :Hexplore
:help :Nexplore
:help :Pexplore
:help :Rexplore
:help :Sexplore
:help :Texplore
:help :Vexplore
or you can "edit a directory" (local or remote, but if remote the name
should end in a slash) and you'll see a directory listing.
For all details, hit F1 on such a directory listing, or
:help pi_netrw.txt
In particular, hitting Enter on a file or subfolder name will open it in
the current directory window, but hitting o instead will open it in a
new window.
Best regards,
Tony.
