It has been my observation in the vim-use mailing list and the #vim channel on IRC that the vim faq is under utilized. FAQ's come up all the time and the generous people on the list re-write the answers over and over again, defeating the purpose of the FAQ.
It seems to me it would be beneficial to include the faq in the official vim documentation. Documentation items could link to it, it would be helpgrep'able, etc. If it's generally deemed a good idea I would be happy to incorporate it in the documentation and submit a patch.
