Hi, it's been explained that when :global cannot find its pattern, it outputs E486 as a "normal message" (as opposed to error message). (Google helped me find it here and in at least one more place: http://markmail.org/message/vjm7aoluixhc4zqz ).
Could the message be changed (for :global only; not for other searching) from "E486: Pattern not found" to simply "Pattern not found"? This seems to have confused quite a few people already. Also, using :vglobal with a pattern that matches every line produces "Pattern found in every line", not "Exxx: Pattern found in every line".
