Hello,

Problem: I'm trying to find the license info for the sqlanywhere.vim file,
since I borrowed from it for a new syntax file. I need to know to whom and
under what terms the new syntax file needs to be distributed under so I can act
appropriately. Can anyone shed light on this?

Background:
I've started using vim recently at my company, where we use a language similar
to SQL called CCL (Cerner Command Language). I started writing a syntax file
for it, and to start off I borrowed from the sqlanywhere.vim syntax file.

What I know and have tried:
*I asked around internally, but the recommendation was to either ask the
maintainer directly or to ask on the vim mailing list.

* The maintainer for the sqlanywhere file is listed as being David Fishburn
<fishburn at ianywhere dot com>. I sent him an email Wednesday (2011-12-07),
but have not yet received a reply. The last change is listed as having been in
2005, so that email address could be defunct.

*The sqlanywhere.vim file is available at
http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=498
and I found also a copy of the syntax file on my development RedHat server at
/usr/share/vim/vim<version>/syntax ; however, neither source is specific about
what license the syntax files are under. The closest document I can find is
/usr/share/doc/vim-common-<version>/README.txt, which contains the section:

COPYING

Vim is Charityware. You can use and copy it as much as you like, but you are
encouraged to make a donation to orphans in Uganda. Please read the file
"runtime/doc/uganda.txt" for details (do ":help uganda" inside Vim).

Summary of the license: There are no restrictions on using or distributing an
unmodified copy of Vim. Parts of Vim may also be distributed, but the license
text must always be included. For modified versions a few restrictions apply.
The license is GPL compatible, you may compile Vim with GPL libraries and
distribute it.

Thanks in advance,
