Unless I am grossly mistaken, there is still no bidirectional support in Vim.
Yes, Right-to-Left languages like Arabic and Hebrew are supported, but
that is not the same as having full bidirectional support.

It seems that even within a bidirectional terminal emulator like
mlterm, Vim does not support bidirectionality (I tried). Please
correct me if I am wrong, or if I am missing something.

Now that even Emacs has introduced true bidirectional support with its
latest version, isn't about time that Vim does that too? It will
require some hard work, of course, but it is badly needed. Potentially
millions of users (speakers of Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu, etc)
would be able to benefit from Vim.

Appeal: could someone of the developers please consider working on it?

Or, at least, it would help to know what are the chances of seeing
true bidirectionality implemented in the short/medium term. Is
bidirectional support for Vim on the developers' agenda?

Thanks

Rasheed
