I've had this setting for quite some time: listchars=nbsp:␣,conceal:⋯,tab:▕—,trail:ˑ,precedes:…,extends:… and have never noticed any problems with cursor position. Can you please explain what "wrong" position you are seeing for the cursor? Where does the cursor show? Where do you expect it? Under what circumstances?
