I have been trying out different outliner plugins for Vim, VimOrganizer, Vim
Outliner and Hyperlist. This threw up quite a few issues for me. After a bit of
research it turns out that the problems are caused by me using the 'langmap'
feature (I use the colemake keyboard layout). The problem is that whenever the
script contains something along the lines of 'normal ...' the '...' does not
get translated to colemak correctly. It also seems (from looking at :help todo)
that this has been an open bug/issue for quite some time:

``Problem with 'langmap' being used on the rhs of a mapping. (Nikolai Weibull,
2008 May 14)''

I would be quite willing to help fix the bug, but I have 0 experience with the
vim sources. Is there any 'getting started' documentation for developing vim?
Has there been any progress regarding this bug? Is there a way I might alter
the scripts so they don't need to use 'normal' to insert something at the
beginning of a line for example (I'm inexperienced in using vimscript)?
Googling for these issues has not reveiled any solutions, unfortunately.

Kind regards,

Tim van Deurzen.
