I tried to delete all search history using:
:call histdel('/')
And it seemed to worked because:
:call his /
returned nothing, and starting a search, then using up-arrow returned
nothing.
--BUT--
It does not clear the search history kept in .viminfo.
Should it?
histdel({history} [, {item}]) *histdel()*
Clear {history}, i.e. delete all its entries. See |hist-names|
for the possible values of {history}.
