WFM on openSUSE Linux 12.1 with gcc 4.6.2 and Python 2.7.2. Compiling Huge 64-bit gvim for GTK2/Gnome2. But (unlike you, it seems) I don't parallelize the make. I get no messages (not even a warning) for

If your installed Python (as shown by "python --version") is not Python 2.4.x, "make reconfig" might help. Don't forget to set the configure arguments; I recommend to set them in the environment of your compile job, as shown in http://users.skynet.be/antoine.mechelynck/vim/compunix.htm
