It improves text rendering for plain ol' ASCII as well - character stem
widths are more consistent.  The effect is subtle with Consolas but more

(*) There are problems with Inconsolata sizes 9 and 11, the equals sign is rendered with only one line, but that most likely will be an issue with the font program, not the DirectX font renderer.
