I put a
au BufNewFile,BufReadPost README
setf asciidoc
line into my .vim/filetype.vim so opening README would cause vim to use
asciidoc highlighting.
I'm using a Huge vim 7.4.1-45 under a Linux system.
No core dump resulted or any other odd behavior.
