Greetings vim developers! While working on a marketplace software that lists Vim among available apps, we identified Vim having a rather dated application icon. During a marathon where we try to update the looks of various FOSS application icons[1] Lapo Calamandrei did an excellent job rendering the Vim project identity into a modern icon[2].
I'm not very well versed in mercurial, but here's a git style patch to have the app icon install an additional 256x256 app icon as well as update the smaller sized PNGs. http://jimmac.musichall.cz/stuff/0001-vim-app-icon.patch We'll be happy to provide a metro styled stencil for Windows 8, but I'm afraid somebody else would need to step up and hook it up into the build system. cheers!
