the :sleep command mispositions cursor when there are splits. From vim -u NONE,

:vsp|vsp|vsp|vsp|wincmd w|wincmd w
:sleep 2 "cursor will shift to the first split

I actually ran into this bug during an elaaaaaborate workaround to get 
getchar() not to reposition the cursor to the commandline. It would be really 
nice if this were a feature, ie, a version of the getchar() command that 
doesn't move the cursor.
