Hello VIM developers,

Please take a look at this:

:echo matchlist('abc def', '\(abc\>\)\?\s*\(def\)')

when re=1 I get the following result (as expected):
['abc def', 'abc', 'def', '', '', '', '', '', '', '']

but with re=0 or 2 the result is:

[' def', '', 'def', '', '', '', '', '', '', '']

Without the '\>' it works fine.
Tested on vim 7.4 -161.
