Yes, this fixed the problem.
Since you are the maintainer, I would like to ask if it is possible to not change directory to the folder that is opened with ":new mydir/"? Currently, it changes the current directory to mydir/ once some file from there is opened. I don't this this is generally a desired behavior. Opening a file is what users usually want.
