Rather complex case appearing only inside if, for, while constructs but
not outside any constructs nor in a case construct.  A minimal case to
test (a string of "\""\" is problematic too; an assignement of varname=
instead of $varname= is not problematic):

$ cat >test.sh <<EOF
#!/bin/sh
if true
then
eval $varname="\"\""
# comment highlighted as a string
fi
$ vim -u NONE -c ':syntax on' test.sh


This bug is found in Debian sid and Debian stable (and in sh.vim
Version 132 ASTRO-ONLY):
