What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Search and replace command: %s/\ze*//
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Vim crashes (segmentation fault) instead of completing the search and
replace.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

*) gdb shows that vim enters an infinite call loop and runs out of stack
space.
*) Was not able to reproduce in vim 7.2 and 7.3.
