I've been working on the implementation of WinNew, and I have some doubts:
1) Should WinNew trigger when a new tab page is created?
2) Should TabNew/WinNew trigger right before/after VimEnter? After all, windows
and tabs are created at that point.
3) These events, as currently implemented, are triggered before BufEnter
events, and as such can't initialize t: and w: variables for the new tab and
window page, which might perhaps be unexpected to users. Perhaps a couple of
events that triggered after BufEnter but only on new windows and tab pages
could be useful.

You mention t: and w: variables.
Can't make use of such variables to emulate TabNew, WinNew?
(when entering and variable not set, this is tabnew or winnew situation, set
the variable)
