Is this possible to do without introducing any additional means?  I
don't know a way to check whether window is using local cwd or global
one.  If the answer is no, would adding an optional parameter to
`getcwd()` be a good way to handle this?  New parameter would choose
between default/local/global cwd with local being empty when global is
used by the window.
