The docs state:

"There are a few special names: ... NONE  no color (transparent)"

however NONE is always interpreted as "background", not as "transparent". This 
prohibits us from using the current (the most "interior") background (or 
foreground) colors of enclosing syntax items (see attached files; load testsh, 
then source testsh.vim) w/o doubly defining syntax items.

Please make NONE really transparent.
