The file from 7.* took a great care to work with code in docstrings in both Python code and reST files (e.g., doctests). Does this version do the same? Also, my version from 7.x was fairly readable and easy to maintain. I still didn't review your version carefully, so I hope it's similar. I really do not understand why did you base your rewrite on the old abandoned version of the syntax file instead of using the one from 7.x? I don't think we should replace the things based on the older file from 6.* and break the users of the new version from 7.* without further consideration, first. Thanks!
