This has been discussed before, without a clear winner for the existing package managers, although I believe Vundle was favoured most. This is an item on the "vote for features list": "better plugin management system: automatic updates and dependencies" You can find it currently at the 12th position: http://www.vim.org/sponsor/vote_results.php I would also like to make it easier for the MS-Windows Vim installation to be updated.
