I've just updated OS X to El Capitan (10.11.1) from Yosemite (10.10.?) in
my external HDD.

Opening Terminal.app, then I did
```
$ git clone https://github.com/vim/vim
$ cd vim/src
$ make
$ make test
$ make install
```
During the build and installation, I didn't get any error.

Now, I have vim 7.4.902 in `/usr/local/bin` with the runtime in
`/usr/local/share/vim/vim74'. I've not seen any problem with it so far.

Also, I downloaded MacVim (snapshot 73, for OS X 10.9 or later) from
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/25988/macvim and didn't see any drawing
problem you described, though I'm not sure of possible minor glitches due
to version difference.

So, it looks your problem is caused by something other than vim/MacVim.

Best regards,
Kazunobu Kuriyama
