I'm afraid that I don't see a problem with your example's highlighting. Perhaps you need to upgrade your syntax/sh.vim? Its up to v143. You can get it from vim's git site: git clone https://github.com/vim/vim.git or, if you've done the above already, use git pull to get an updated version.
