In fact it should go to the bin. The pattern I provided [\(...\)] was 
deliberately incomplete for the sample [it was supposed to be [\(...\)\@<= in 
the end], so this was kind of misleading. The problem - and therefore thanks 
again! - was not using "\%" for the matching group having a "\1" around. Sigh...
