Dear Vim/Mutt users, As an enthusiastic user of Vim and Mutt, some time ago I began writing a software with a spirit similar to both of them, but to view images.
It is named "Fim", and now there's a new release since a long time. On its website I've put two sections why a Vim or a Mutt user might like it: http://www.nongnu.org/fbi-improved/#tutorial_vim http://www.nongnu.org/fbi-improved/#tutorial_mutt Here forwarded follows the release email. I hope this message can be of your interest. Cheers, Michele ----- Forwarded message from Michele Martone ----- Subject: [fim-devel] fim new release: 0.5 (rc0) !! To: [email protected] Date: Mon, 18 Jan 2016 11:39:41 +0100 Dear FIM/Fbi IMproved users, I am happy to announce the release of fim-0.5-rc0. This is a major release: it brings a lot of features and changes with respect to the previous one (0.4). The main user-visible changes are: * display of per-image description text, which can be loaded from a text file via the --load-image-descriptions-file switch * per-image-group properties/tagging syntax for the description file * search on file name and image descriptions text with '/' and '?' * status line and SDL window caption customizable with expandos * load from directories recursively with -R / --recursive * EXIF based orientation (rotation) support * EXIF tags loading into variables usable e.g. in the status line * 'limit' command to filter the displayed images list on e.g. filename, description, EXIF value or other... * faster image scaling with mipmaps * jump back and forth between two images remembering alignment/scaling * resize the SDL window to image size with 'W' / --autowindow * new formats support: JPEG-2000 (via JasPer) + PCX (native) * open a file at an offset (experimental) * open files in CBZ,CBR,RAR,TAR,TGZ,TBZ,7Z,ISO,... archives (experimental, via libarchive) Full record of user visible changes on http://www.nongnu.org/fbi-improved/#news Tarballs available at http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/fbi-improved/ (don't panic if it doesn't download at first -- all the mirrors have to get the files first) As always, feedback is very appreciated: I am very grateful to the users that the time have provided critiques, suggestions, useful bug reports, patches or new code! _______________________________________________ Fbi-improved-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/fbi-improved-devel ----- End forwarded message ----- -- -- You received this message from the "vim_dev" maillist.
