I'd say to do the latter, if it is the same as what I've seen some time ago. This Haiku-patch looked suspiciously like my BeOS patch, with the addition of some changes that became necessary over the years. I do still have a BeBox but I have to admit I haven't turned it on in years. And the BeOS version on it isn't the latest I suppose, since I stuck with PPC and never went with BeOS for iNtel. (I switched to NetBSD on Alpha instead. That probably caused the doom of the Alpha...) So trying to build on it probably isn't even representative of anything current. I wonder if the limits on select() on tty input was improved in Haiku. I remember I had to do some horrible workarounds with extra threads for that and it would be nice if that could be simplified.
