Ok, got it. The documentation should now reflect this. Now on FreeBSD (and
perhaps Amiga OS, BeOS, ...), another
approach is needed to start :Man. Your suggestion, `MANPAGER = env MAN_PN=1 vim
+...` is an elegant work around.
Instead of $MAN_PN, the manpage and section seems, by a superficial check, to
be always given at the beginning
of the manpage (= start of line 1) and end with blanks. If so, then
if $MAN_PN == 1
let page_pattern = '\v\w+%([-_.]\w+)*'
let sec_pattern = '\v\w+%(\+\w+)*'
let page_sec = matchlist( getline(1), '\v^(' . page_pattern . ')\((' .
sec_pattern . ')\)\s' )
...
endif
is a good universal alternative.
