I am having the exact issue that was also reported here on Stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/32115208/vim-crashing-when-navigating-through-file/37241352#37241352
I have been a VIM user for years on Mac, Windows and Linux. I use it every day of my life just about. I don't think I have ever had Vim crash on me before. I just installed Vim 7.4 (using the Windows installer package from the Vim web site) on a new Windows 10 machine and whenever I open a Ruby file and start to scroll in Vim, Vim crashes. So far I am only seeing this crash with Ruby files and *only* if syntax is on. Given I am editing Ruby files all the time right now this issue is a massive pain for me on this machine. I mostly use my Macs but for testing I also need this Windows 10 machine to work. This looks to be a serious problem (regression with the latest install package Vim) As I mentioned above, this only seems to happen when Syntax Highlighting is on. If I start Vim without Syntax on all is fine. The minute I turn Syntax on and scroll - boom. It is 100% reproducible - Vim crashes as soon as syntax is on and I scroll down the file using the mouse or trackpad. I can start Gvim with no syntax highlighting and scroll as much as I want with no issues. For me this makes Vim unusable on this machine. Is there a newer Windows binary I can try? I don't have the time to setup a Vim build environment right now but am happy to do any diagnostics you want me to try. This issue is easy to reproduce.
