There is a bug when using g< with execute()

One cannot capture it's output using execute()/redir:

:echo "a\nb\nc\nd\n"
(press enter prompt)
:norm! g<
(shows the echo output again)
:let b=execute(':unsilent norm! g<')
:echo empty(b)
1
:norm! g<
(does not output anything)
