Please be kind. We are working hard to improve Vim further and no one 
gets paid for that, we all just do it for the fun of it.

BTW: this is a feature. We are using better defaults, if no .vimrc is 
found. And it is a good idea, to check the documentation after a new 
major version has been released. It is all there, you can find it, if 
you really look for it (and it is even described how to circumvent it, 
if you don't like it).
