I suspect this is not caused by the patch, but because the test reads a
file in DOS mode with the first line lacking a CR.
Hmm, valgrind does not see this error. And the address sanitizer does
not work:
ERROR: AddressSanitizer failed to allocate 0xdfff0001000 (15392894357504) bytes
at address 2008fff7000 (errno: 12)
I don't have that many bytes! Didn't find a way to avoid that.
