Hello, In short: When starting to type a text, the cursor disappears, as it should. But moving the mouse doesn't make it show up again. The cursor is only visible when it's moved outside the application. But when moving the mouse cursor back into gvim's window, it disappears again. Interestingly, this happens only when you enter the vim area from upside or from the left side (down and right are scrollbars).
This happens only on one machine I have ever been using, so it's very hard to reproduce. It wouldn't even reproduce if I run a VNC server on this machine and try from outside. This problem was with me for the last 4 years or so and it's really annoying. I have connected it with a similar problem I found in Google's Chrome engine based browsers (including Opera). However with updates THIS WEEK the hover problem on chromium-based browser has fortunately been gone. The problem remains, however, on GVim. To the best of my knowledge, this isn't a problem with VIM, it's a problem with Gtk, but well, Gtk community seems to have the problem report ignored, and now that GVim is the only known application of having this problem, Gtk has even less reason to get interested. This is described in Gnome Bugzilla here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=775462 Currently I'm using QVim as a workaround, but it has several other disadvantages (no scrollbars in GUI, ^N/^P search is extremely slow). -- -- You received this message from the "vim_dev" maillist.
