As I mentioned earlier, I am not getting error highlighting with your example script. So, let's try to find out why you are having this problem: * when you edit the example above: what does :echo b:is_bash show? (should show 1) * try vim -Vtmp yourscript and see if "sourcing.*syntax\/sh.vim" is in there, and its where you've put v168.
