I saw this running gvim 8.0.1240 on Windows 7 Enterprise Version
6.1, SP1. I upgraded to 8.0.1359 and still see it. I don't see the
problem when running gvim 8.0.1257 on Linux.
To demonstrate the problem, cd to the directory containing gvim.exe.
(That directory is not in my Windows PATH.) Execute this:
./gvim.exe -N -u NONE -i NONE
:vnew
Use the mouse to drag the vertical separator between the two windows
right or left; the direction doesn't matter. Note that "-- INSERT
--" appears in the command line and the left window is in insert
mode.
