In the latest help file of
*eval.txt* For Vim version 8.0. Last change: 2018 Jan 28
The last paragraph of matchaddpos() says:
< Matches added by |matchaddpos()| are returned by
|getmatches()| with an entry "pos1", "pos2", etc., with the
value a list like the {pos} item.
These matches cannot be set via |setmatches()|, however they
can still be deleted by |clearmatches()|.
However, as far as I tried on 8.0, matchaddpos() entries can be set via
setmatches(). Did the following patch solve the restriction?
Patch 7.4.745
Problem: The entries added by matchaddpos() are returned by getmatches()
but can't be set with setmatches(). (Lcd)
Solution: Fix setmatches(). (Christian Brabandt)
