Change the file as needed, adjust the header and move the current 
maintainer to previous maintainer and add yourself as the current 
maintainer and possibly add other fields as needed (e.g. a public 
repository if you intend to maintain it somewhere publicly).

Then send the updated complete file to BRam for inclusion with the next 
runtime update and mention that the maintainer has been unresponsive and 
there are several changes missing which you intend to fix.
