This is very nice.  Thank you.

With this fixed, it would be nice if the J command could also be
fixed to properly join such sentences.  For example, given the
following three lines,

    Mary had a little lamb.
    She said, "Hey there, lamb!"
    It's fleece was white.

typing J twice on the first line results in this line.

    Mary had a little lamb.  She said, "Hey there, lamb!" It's fleece was white.

Note that the first and second sentences are separated by two spaces
while the second and third sentences are separated by only one
space.
