Ah, the good old Amiga.  Write() is an AmigaDOS function, there must be
a header for it somewhere, don't recall what it is called.

That depends on the compiler and how it translates Unix functionality to
the Amiga.

If you are not actually using an Amiga, you should look at other source
code and a much newer version of Vim.
