In konsole I still see a faint margin but thinner, 1px I think. In xterm the font is different, yet I think I see a wider margin on the left side of Vim's status line (inside xterm's greyish margin of which I don't understand the /raison d'ĂȘtre/) than on the right, maybe 2px and 1px respectively.
